Since I was a little one I've always had big dreams to travel the world. So far (as of August, 2011), I've stepped foot in six different countries and I have learned first hand the vast variety of differences that culture and location can provide. As a graphic designer, it is one thing to learn about design around the world from the context of a webpage or an annual, but I've always found this unsatisfactory for real experience and face to face conversation and collaboration. So in the winter of 2010, I caught wind of
Fabrica, a design research center located in
Treviso Italy, nestled between wine vineyards south of the lower Alps. The institution offers one year grants to young designers from all over the world to work on a variety of projects from film to music to product design. During my last collegiate spring break in 2011, I traveled to Fabrica to perform a two week intensive trial to work, experiment, and learn from some of these designers. I met a lot of great people and I had a blast coming up with ideas for the European design community. These slides are a selection of some of the my more favorite product concepts that I devised during my stay.
