Today is the kick off of my new website! I tried to make the site as easy to navigate through as possible, and also to make it an interesting and engaging experience. But I know it's not perfect, and I want some feedback about the site, so if you notice something that I could change and make better, send me an email and I'll get right on it! Meantime, it's yours, enjoy it!
My Eleflate gets blogged by FMLY. FMLY, a music and culture blog based in New York City, just created a new section of their site dubbed all-stars, which displays artistic and cultural insight into poetry, short stories, video, painting, performances, etc... The Eleflate was used as the first entry to the new category, so I get the FMLY all-star v-card. Horray!
Here are some more websites that recently showcased the elephant, including wikio, Make:, and CDT so far. Check all these sites out in their entirety, some great stuff.
I received acceptance today from the Study Abroad Exchange program to study at RMIT in Melbourne Australia for the Fall Semester of 2009. I've never been overseas and I'm knee deep in Student Visa research and vaccination requirements but I'm extremely excited to experience design in another culture. The way hemisphere changes work in Australia as opposed to the United States means that I'll be starting school in July, and I'm looking for things to do in Melbourne, so if anyone has any relevant info shoot me an email!
Today I received a design Internship from SPIN on the marketing team. You may know SPIN best from the magazine, but the company is much more than a great magazine. The bigger entity is known as SPIN Media, which consists of SPIN Magazine, SPINearth, and SPIN Marketing. I'll be on the marketing team, doing spreads in the magazine, as well as doing web and flash work on micro sites and projects for separate clients. I'll also be working on venue display, and working on the new SPIN Media website. Hopefully no coffee runs and weed picking on this one! Check out SPIN!
Albino Rhino Launched! Alex Levin (BFA Design and Management concentration at Parsons) and myself are embarking on a business venture together. We created a design firm rightly dubbed Albino Rhino Design, a New York based Design firm specializing in Intuitive Inspiration to achieve the most professional, Industry standard products and services for a national clientele base. We've already begun the initial phases for a clothing company in New York City and we're excited to see where this avenue leads!
Logopond showcases the new Albino Rhino Logo. For the logo designers out there familiar with Logopond, then this is for you. I was extremely surprised to see it on the home page, and even more excited to see bloggers showcasing it as an example of a well designed logo. It's been getting a lot of attention in the logo community and exposure is always great. Here's some links to sites that have used the logo in some way.
Okay, so I didn't write this post in 07, but that's the date that the Meadville Tribune did a cover story on me for my story about Parsons. I found the article online a while back and I don't know how the archiving works for the Meadville Tribune but hopefully it stays up on their site for a while. Several other smaller papers picked up this article over the next week around Northwestern Pennsylvania. I've been peeking around Meadville blogs associated with the article and found one stating that "Crawford County Vo-Tech student Ryan Reigner is going to Parson's. Now if Meadville politicians are smart, they'll stay in touch with the kid for the next four years and then figure out how to bring him back." FAT CHANCE! Note that in the entire article my last name is spelled wrong, so only a Google search spelling my last name Reigner will show the result. Damn.
